I recently went searching for three meters of fishing line.  At the Forever Spring Farmer\u2019s Market, I bought two beautiful glass hummingbirds in colours that match our living room.  I wanted to hang a total of three of them from our chandelier; red, yellow, and turquoise, suspended four meters above, but that day, I didn\u2019t see the third colour I wanted.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After searching grocery stores and realizing they do not stock fishing line among their sporting goods, we moved on to a marine store, found online, at the south end of Bucerias.  The day we dropped in they were packing up and moving. No luck there.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, I thought to myself, where else to buy gear related to fishing, but the Mercado del Mar in La Cruz.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our weekly visit to pick up shrimp (or tuna, or red snapper), I asked the vendors if I could purchase some fishing line.  \u201cI only need about three meters\u201d.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three, because I need to buy one more hummingbird, using about one meter for each bird.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told Dennis, \u201cOf course I need another one, hon. Everyone knows you must decorate using odd numbered pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, the folks at the fish market either did not understand my poor attempt at Spanish, (likely), or they didn\u2019t have any to sell, (also likely).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later I realized, duh, they don\u2019t exactly fish with poles!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did finally luck out, however, at an overstocked mini-super located at the very end of the fish market, where I was able to purchase some clear fishing line.  A mere 500 hundred meters of it.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This little story of ours is nowhere near finished.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After getting those hummer beauties hung from the chandelier, one broke, just yesterday.  No, it did not try to fly away. I had the sliding doors wide open off the living room, and wouldn\u2019t you know it, a young pigeon flew right in.  He toured around the first floor for a bit, threatening to soar higher to the second floor – bedroom territory. Thankfully it settled on the inside ledge above the doors.  Dennis, the bird whisperer, slowly and gently guided him out using our long handled pool net. Pigeon happy, us happy. While returning the net with the long pole though, the handle whacked against one of the glass birds.  Smash.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I need not one, but two more.  Goodness knows I have enough line to hang yet another one.  Let me know if you need four-hundred and ninety-something meters of fishing line.
