A Rose in Bucerias
Meet our amiga, Rose. We asked Rose to share her story of falling in love with Bucerias.
Here’s what she had to say:
In the early 2000’s, I met my future ex-husband in Cabo. At one point, he moved to Bucerias for his job.
I had been to PV before, but didn’t even know Bucerias existed. I fell in love with the quaint little town and continued to visit every year. I knew pretty quickly that this is where I wanted to retire, so I set a plan in motion and looked for houses every time I came down (I lived in Atlanta).
I was lucky that my ex-husband was able to really show me the Mexican culture and way of life. I knew I wanted a traditional Mexican home in a local neighborhood.
The year before I retired, I found exactly what I wanted, thanks to my friend Bernie Gaertner at Bucerias Homefinders. I’ve been here four years now, and could not be happier with my decision.
There’s definitely a learning curve with the culture, but I think I’ve adapted pretty well. I’m happy to be living away from most of the construction, on the East side of the highway. Lots of little comidas, tiendas and taco stands – not to mention many nights of joyful Mexican fiestas in the streets and local plazas. I also incorporated two beautiful rescue dogs into my life – and we’re all enjoying our best life at Casa Cielo Azul!
Some of Rose’s favourite things about Bucerias are sitting by the beach, shopping at the little shops and markets, and enjoying a delicious meal at Culi’s Restaurant and Bar.
