Villa Cocoa Chocolates - Bucerias Life in The Slow Lane

Villa Cocoa Chocolates

Villa Cocoa Chocolates, Lazaro Cardenas 237, Zona Dorada, Bucerias

If you’ve travelled along Lazaro Cardenas in Bucerias any time since July, you’ll have seen Villa Cocoa Chocolates. It’s difficult to just walk on by, with the beautiful artesanal chocolates and various treats enticingly placed in the window display.

Christian and Yearim Beuffe

A family run enterprise, the Beuffes started their ambitious entrepreneurial adventures in San Sebastian del Oeste several years ago with a fine-dining restaurant, and then a hotel, and then a chocolate factory and store. We asked, “What made you become interested in making chocolate products?” Christian explained, “It is part of the things my father likes to do. He had a curiosity of how to make chocolate. He bought a couple of kilos of cocoa and in the end the chocolate was good!”

The family brings cocoa from Tabasco and Chiapas and produces 100% natural chocolate treats.

Yearim and Christian live nearby and said, “We decided to come here to Bucerias to open the store. It is well located and we love Bucerias. It’s a very nice community.”

The important message the Beuffs would like you to know is this: Many make chocolate products once they have the chocolate, but there are very few chocolate producers across all of Mexico. The Beuffe family is proud to produce their own 100% Mexican chocolate, made directly from the cocoa bean to the final product.

The little shop also offers cookies, jams, vanilla beans, coffee and various beverages. Be sure to stop in and have a look…betcha can’t leave without a little something!
