Classic Margaritas of Bucerias 2

As we continue to research the lime margarita, scientifically known as margaritus limus, we are discovering little known facts. Did you know that margaritas are not usually included in the list of medical supplies found in most hospital operating rooms? Interesting. I find that margaritas improve my general well being. Anyway, time to do some more field research.

Everyone knows Miguel. He is the ambassador usually found in his restaurant bar, or in the town square talking to visitors. Does he offer margaritas? Of course.

We enlisted our son Ryan, visiting from Canada, to taste test the margarita. He used words like cold, tart, delightful.

It was a positive experience with the Mariachi De Mi Tierra De Javier Mora band in the background. Enjoy their music with a margarita, every afternoon except Mondays. Restaurant Bar Miguel Angel is found on the north side of the town square in Centro Bucerias, or contact them at http://www.miguelangelbucerias.com/

We were warmly greeted by Arturo, owner of Esquina 22. This is his signature margarita.

As we sampled another perfect margarita, we chatted with Arturo. Esquina 22 is located in what was Arturo’s family home. He grew up in this very building. How cool is that? Arturo also wants to thank all his customers for supporting Esquina 22 throughout the difficult times. Oh, our day just got better…it is happy hour and our 2nd one is on the way! Esquina 22 is located at Avenida Mexico #22, Centro Bucerias and is open Monday to Saturday from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. Contact them at http://info.esquina22.com

Rick Kranefuss, the owner, welcomed us with a smile. His business is based on good food, good music, and good service. Okay, can we also add good margaritas. Rick had mentioned to his staff that Rhythm & Blues would be featured in Classic Margaritas. Apparently there was a bit of competition to determine which staff member was going to star in the making of the margaritas. It was won by Liz, who makes a really good margarita.

Liz, Margarita Maravilloso

We asked our good friends Jerry and Janie from Saskatchewan to be our taste testers. The pictures say it all!

Rythym & Blues features live music and has been a part of Bucerias night life for the past 6 years.

You will find them at Avenida Mexico, #26 in Centro Bucerias. Contact them here: http://www.facebook.com/Rhythym-Blues-Lounge-180950152311520/ or call 329 298 0043

The Backyard. Well named, as it is literally the backyard of the hostel located on the southbound lateral in Bucerias. We asked Axel to prepare his signature margarita.

Axel makes a great margarita. Nice and tart. His education was in the food and beverage industry. He obviously passed with flying colours. We would like to take a moment to congratulate Axel and his wife on the birth of their son, Leon, just last week. Saludos my friend.

The Backyard is located on Del Toro, directly behind the hostel on the southbound lateral. Call 322 180 6928 or find them on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/thebackyardbucerias/

What great fun we have had putting together CLASSIC MARGARITAS OF BUCERIAS. The staff and owners of everyplace we’ve visited have been wonderful. They take their business seriously, and they all make damned fine margaritas. Cheers all!
